My battery fizzled out at a crucial point in the competition. What's the secret to making it last?
Here is the process you should follow when charging and discharging the red robot batteries:

If you look at the battery charger, you'll notice a switch that can be set to "charge" or "discharge." When a battery begins to run low, it should be connected to the charger and set to "discharge." Then set the timer to 5 minutes. When complete, move the switch to "charge" and set the timer to 10 minutes.

Other tips:
  • If you will not use batteries for a few days, discharge the batteries and do not charge them until just before you use them.
  • Always watch the batteries as you charge them. You can easily burn up a battery by letting it charge or discharge too long.
  • This process will increase your battery life and make them behave better on game day. Games are won and lost because of batteries every year!

What are the requirements for the size of the robot?
  • The robot must fit within a 2'x2'x2' cube.
  • It must fit in the cube unconstrained. (You can't stuff it into the box.)
  • The robot can be in any orientation within the cube.

My kit seems to be missing the Tether Cable. Where can I get one?
On the Return Kit list, you will notice an item called the "Tether Cable." Not all kits have this. Find the black box labeled "Tether Box." If it has a gray cable coming from it, you will not have a separate tether cable. If it has a black cable, you should notice that the cable has an extension plugged into it. The extension is what we have called the "tether cable."
